Missi 12/26/11

This was a little girl of ours who we had to bring back home with failure to thrive at her first adoption. Luckily her mama nursed her, we gave her lots of TLC and a wonderful couple picked her over a younger girl and she blossomed into the beautiful little friend you see here. I am leaving her here as a reminder as to why we do not ship and how important it is to match the right puppy to the right home. Glady and I (Dennis) would like you to get a feeling for our endeavor. Both of us have been in helping professions for all of our adult lives; Glady as a neonatal intensive care nurse and myself as an ordained Minister and licensed clinical social worker, now disabled. We have four adult children who are each the apples of our eyes.

Before coming to western North Carolina, we lived in the New York metropolitan area and feel we got here just in time. We are so blessed by the mountains and people of this area. Since moving here the Lord has brought many wonderful people to us, and we consider our furry little Shih Tzus part of that blessing. They opened their hearts to us and we opened our home to them. They have been our therapy through many troubling storms.

Our first girl, Boo, is literally a therapy dog and has visited nursing homes, Hospice, and schools. Also, disabled children have held her and had their faces washed (or kissed). We have had many pets and many dogs over the years, but we consider the Shih Tzu the best of the Best. We have raised them all from puppies in our home without kennels. They sleep in our bedroom every night. They are the best you can find. They are given wonderful medical care by our good friends at Brevard Animal Hospital.

We offer only healthy happy babies for adoption. We have adopted the best so we could provide happiness for you and your loved ones. We encourage children to play with them. We breed towards the standard of 9-16 lbs for this reason. They should be strong, friendly dogs. They are not Chihuahuas, so if you want a 5 pound or less dog, please get one of them. However if you want a slightly larger dog in a little furry hypoallergenic body, our babies may be just what you are looking for.We now have my little sister Faith who spoils and loves our furbabies.
